Template:User pro-anon & Template:User anti-anon
These two should probably
- a) change names / be moved, since "anon", "anonymous editing" and "ip editing" are no longer things
- b) have their language and links reviewed. The "anti" one is probably okay as-is, while the "pro" one should probably be rephrased to argue temporary account users should retain the right to edit Wikipedia, or some such.

Gradients in userboxes
Wondering if there's a way to make gradients on userboxes. Starry~~(Starlet147) 22:38, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
- User:Starlet147, yes. Couple of examples with gradients done using CSS: User:Tcr25/Userbox/User SCP fave, User:Diriector Doc/Ubx/Toured Caves, User:I'm Aya Syameimaru!/mtm, and User:Infinity128/Userbox/Weirdcore. There are also a couple of examples with gradients in image files at Wikipedia:Userboxes/Colour#Other. —andrybak (talk) 19:28, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
Is there a “child of a Wikipedian” userbox
“This user is the child of a Wikipedian” - something like that. ~2026-10056-00 (talk) 11:07, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
Request - March 7, 2026
Hi, I'm a new Wikipedian and first time userbox creator. I am not sure if I made these correctly (especially the noinclude tag and if the photos from Wikimedia Commons are allowed to be used like this).
Hope this is the right place to ask. Thanks in advance!
FederationFlux ⟡ talk 16:50, 7 March 2026 (UTC) 14:57, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
- I think that the images are all okay to use for these userboxes, but be careful with images. If an image is fair use, it cannot be used in a Userbox. I also think you used noinclude right. I could be wrong, but I think that all of the userboxes you listed are alright.
Hope this is the right place to ask.
This is a page for requesting that users make you a userbox. If you want to ask about userboxes or how to make them, please use Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Userboxes in the future. Thanks! BlueStaticHorse (talk) 15:45, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for all your answers. I believe all the images have a free license or in the public domain, and will make sure future images are that way too (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ and https://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0). I realized a bit late this is the wrong page, sorry. I will use the right page next time! Should I resubmit to the new userboxes talk page? Do I (or can I) delete this request? Thanks again. FederationFlux ⟡ talk 16:50, 7 March 2026 (UTC) 16:00, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
- I think you should move it to the right page, or just delete it if you have the answer to your question. If you want, let me know and I can move/delete it for you, if you don't know how. BlueStaticHorse (talk) 16:07, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
- I don't know how to move/delete a request. I think moving it is better? Thank you once again. FederationFlux ⟡ talk 16:50, 7 March 2026 (UTC) 16:11, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
- When cutting and pasting a discussion to another page like in Special:Diff/1342192994+Special:Diff/1342193075, please make sure to include the template

– a better place for requests is Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Userboxes/Ideas, not this page. See banner at the top of this page (Wikipedia:WikiProject Userboxes/Notice). —andrybak (talk) 04:04, 7 April 2026 (UTC) I might have misunderstood what's being discussed here, because this whole section was located elsewhere before. —andrybak (talk) 04:12, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
Reminder: please don't add userboxes to Category:Userboxes itself
Six years ago thousands of userboxes were categorized and moved out of the top-level category. Unfortunately, Category:Userboxes is now back at over a thousand userboxes, which need better categorization.
The category tree under Category:Userboxes is very extensive. When categorizing userboxes, please use the most specific categories possible. If you have questions about the categories for user templates, feel free to bring it up on this talk page.

- @The Ars Goetia: You just need to paste the code into a separate page, like User:The Ars Goetia/Userboxes/Titanfall 2 or something, and then you can transclude it elsewhere by adding the text {{User:The Ars Goetia/Userboxes/Titanfall 2}}. —Trilletrollet [ Talk | Contribs ] 16:31, 30 April 2026 (UTC)

Question
How do I have USERBOXEN with perimeters? I've seen them, but don't know how to do them. Help? Starlet! (Need to talk?) (Library) (Sandbox) 01:27, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
- If you're talking about parameters, and not the perimeter, then you can just use
{{{1}}}with "1" being the title of the parameter. - I would advise you to look at other userboxes that use parameters first, though, as this certainly isn't enough to make a changable userbox with. 🫀 Crash // Organhaver ( it / he | talk to me, maybe? ) 01:36, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
- For perimeters, just check the userbox template documentation... that lists all parameters. 🫀 Crash // Organhaver ( it / he | talk to me, maybe? ) 01:37, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

Autism and ADHD template category
Is it okay if you could move the templates, like autism or ADHD to a different category, like Hidden disabilities, or Neurodivergent? I don't think they fit in Mental Health. RotatingPirateShip (talk) 09:57, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- Category:Neurodivergent user templates and its own subcats (autism & ADHD) are... not in any mental health category. It's a subcat of Disability user templates, if that helps. What do you mean, though? 🫀 Crash // Organhaver ( it / he | talk to me, maybe? ) 19:21, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- I mean the userboxes RotatingPirateShip (talk) 11:32, 28 May 2026 (UTC)

Template:Plain link for external links?
It'd be for the purpose of an Internet meme, specifically a fake references list, essentially a variation on that of Melecie (see the version with parameter wp enabled), except longer and with elements that are actually clickable. Most of them are intra–Wikimedia Project, so they're kosher as far as I'm concerned; but, if allowed, I'd also like to link to Know Your Meme and Uncyclopedia for relevant context. (Except where visually indicated, links provided here are internal.)
The problem with an unmasked external link here is that the caret (^) that famously appears in Template:Reflist would display as ^, making it obvious and thus ruining not only the gag but the formatting. Given the exceptional case that it is a humorous userbox designed as a mock references list, to be used solely within userspace; that the links would be there for context; and that an ordinary external link would ruin the bit; would a plain link be allowed as long as it were to a page that's not malicious or objectionable? I can't think of any viable alternatives. OzzyMuffin238 (talk) 02:14, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- I don’t see any issue with using the template, and I don’t think it’s malicious or objectionable.
- Maybe others think different, but I don’t think it’s too bad to “”deceive”” readers when it’s mostly editors seeing userboxes… 🫀 Crash // Organhaver ( it / he | talk to me, maybe? ) 20:08, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

Inserting an image
I want to insert the image File:Hoppers logo.svg for one of my userboxes I'm planning to make. Is it okay if I can do that? Slackintosh (talk) 23:55, 1 July 2026 (UTC)
- Yes. At least from what I know, the image is public domain. 🫀 Crash // Organhaver ( it / he | talk to me, maybe? ) 03:23, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks. I made one at User:Slackintosh/Userbox/Hoppers (film). Slackintosh (talk) 03:41, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
