Question from Xanalysis (07:19, 8 June 2026)
Hello! My name is Xanalysis. I want to write a good readable article. What matters most here in Wikipedia? --Xanalysis (talk) 07:19, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Xanalysis: Hi, there are a lot of factors that go into what makes a good article, such as being based on reliable references, no original research and being written in a clear and neutral tone. This is a good guide on how to get started with that:WP:YFA. I recommend that you start working with a draft in your sandbox. Shellwood (talk) 09:38, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Shellwood Thank you for the reply. ~2026-33933-15 (talk) 13:52, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
I'm not so familiar with AfD sorting, but you put this one in New Jersey; I think that it more properly belongs in Pennsylvania. He lived the majority of his life in Pittsburgh. Frank | talk 19:36, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Frank: I guess you're right. I changed it to PA, although it could also be added to Ohio. Shellwood (talk) 20:10, 10 June 2026 (UTC)

Question
Apologies for disturbing you, but you assessed my article Skirmish at Brunflo recently. I noticed that it currently appears to be listed as both Start-Class and B-Class. I'm not sure whether or not that's a glitch, so I was wondering if you could clarify which rating is correct.
Thanks! Gvssy (talk) 16:32, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Gvssy: I used a script when I rated the article, it's fixed now. As a general heads up, articles can receive different ratings across WikiProjects. On another subject, as you have written several very good articles on this topic (I can't keep track of how many I have personally reviewed), have you ever considered applying for autopatrolled status? Shellwood (talk) 16:45, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- I see, I assumed the ratings had to match. Thank you for fixing it anyway.
- As for autopatrolled status, I have considered it but I would like to hone my skills a bit more before going through with an application. Thanks for the help though! :-) Gvssy (talk) 17:02, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Gvssy: Fair enough, but I think you have already proven your skills. In any case, keep up the good work! Shellwood (talk) 17:10, 22 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Ira Byock (21:12, 4 July 2026)
Hello Shellwood, Thank you for serving as a mentor. I do have a question. I’m Dr. Ira Byock. I’m an old (literally) clinician, academic, and public advocate in the realm of hospice and palliative medicine. My biography has longstanding maintenance tags, and I believe it is missing substantial reliably sourced information about my work since approximately 2015. I have no desire for promotional content—only an accurate, well-sourced biography. Other than being a frequent user and modest donor to Wikipedia, I’m not expert or even sophisticated in Wikipedia processes or procedures.
Could you or someone familiar with biographies of physicians advise me on the most appropriate process for updating my bio page? Would the Medicine WikiProject be able to assist in this effort? --Ira Byock (talk) 21:12, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
