Congratulations, and thank you for Truganini, "about an Aboriginal Tasmanian woman who became widely (and falsely) mythologised as the "last Tasmanian". It became a GA following a review by @Jens Lallensack, and following some further work I hope that it now meets the FA criteria. This is a level 5 vital article and would be one of only a small handful of FAs about Indigenous Australians"! - Die Stechardin made it to the main page, - the historic woman was a flower seller ... --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:41, 8 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Disclosure: I have been paid to write this draft.

Hi. Occasionally, you have reviewed my drafts about academics so I thought of getting your opinion on this draft. It has been declined due to non notability of the subject, but I believe he meets Criteria 1 of WP:NPROF because his work has over 15,000 citations and he has an h-index of 71 according to Scopus, which is quite high. I have dropped a message to the editor who declined this but I don't think they are still convinced of the notability. Can you please take a look when you have time? HRShami (talk) 05:10, 18 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @HRShami, and sorry for the slow reply. I'd agree at a glance that he looks like he has a reasonable case for passing WP:NPROF#C1, although I always find medical academics a little tricky to evaluate. I'd suggest going ahead and re-submitting the draft with a comment to the next reviewer pointing out the NPROF#C1 claim. MCE89 (talk) 14:00, 31 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Thank you for responding. I will go ahead and resubmit the page for another reviewer to review. Thank you. HRShami (talk) 05:12, 1 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback on new article

Dear MCE89, I've been a new Wikipedia contributor for a few months now. Today, I'm trying to create my first article about a French author, Martine Chifflot. I've experimented quite a bit and received invaluable help from a fellow contributor. However, I'm not entirely sure how I've structured the article. The difficulty stems from the fact that the author I'm interested in is active in several distinct fields: philosophy, novels, drama, and literary criticism. This makes it challenging for me to create an article that conforms to Wikipedia's standards. Could you please give me your feedback on how I've structured the article? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft_talk:Martine_Chifflot Pierre-Henri Murcia (talk) 09:37, 20 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Pierre-Henri Murcia, nice job on your draft so far. I think the layout and structure of the article are good, so I don't think there are any issues there. There are two other things that I'd suggest focusing on addressing:
  • At the moment the evidence of notability is fairly borderline. We typically need multiple sources that are independent of the subject, reliable, and that address the subject in detail. Alternatively, you can show that she meets the criteria for creative professionals by finding multiple professional reviews (e.g. in newspapers, magazines, academic journals etc.) of multiple of her creative works. You seem to have a few solid reviews of her work, but others are in blogs and similar publications that don't count towards notability. I'd focus first on making sure that you have 2+ clearly in-depth, reliable reviews for at least 2 of her books or other creative works
  • Since this is a biography of a living person, the standards for sourcing are particularly strict. This means that things like her date of birth need to be either sourced or removed. There are also places where your sources don't fully support the text of the article. For instance, [1] does not support the statement As a theatre director, Chifflot has produced over sixty productions since 1983, including the chamber opera-theatre piece Animalesques, a work for soprano and clarinet incorporating music by Hugues Dufourt
I think you've got a solid foundation here, so hopefully this helps you with what to work on next! Let me know if you have any other questions. MCE89 (talk) 13:11, 20 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hello MCE89, thank you so much for your help!
For the date of birth, I found the notice from the Bibliothèque nationale.
For "As a theatre director, Chifflot has produced over sixty productions since 1983, including the chamber opera-theatre piece Animalesques, a work for soprano and clarinet incorporating music by Hugues Dufourt" I have sourced separately each affirmation.
I have found that her play Howard, mon amour has been translated in english and staged in major theaters in france.
Also, I found 2 very recent reviews of her noel and of her poetic work, but they are by the same critic (brahim Saci) so I don't know how that counts. The problem is that all the newspapers' articles on her creations are behind paywalls.
What are the next steps? Pierre-Henri Murcia (talk) 07:47, 24 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Pierre-Henri Murcia: The draft is looking great overall, and I'd say you've probably got enough qualifying sources now to show that Chifflot meets the inclusion criteria. Sources that are behind paywalls are also completely okay to use — if you can't access their full contents, you could also link to them in a "Further reading" section so that they are at least available to the reviewer in assessing notability. Before you submit the draft for review, just make sure to remove the remaining statements that aren't quite written in a neutral point of view, such as This approach reflects her broader intellectual project: bridging rigorous philosophical inquiry with poetic and theatrical creation, and add citations in the remaining places that need them. I've added a couple of tags to show you where you still need a source. Once you're ready to submit the draft for review, just paste {{subst:submit}} at the top of the draft.
