Advert and COI warnings
Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
Anyone with a conflict of interest must avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing articles related to you, your family or colleagues, your organization or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
- and you must always:
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.
Note that you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure. Even if you are not being paid, you are expected to disclose any close connection with the subject of the article, using the connected contributor template.

- Hi Deb.
- I am aware of COI policies and act in accordance to them. I published a new article about Harley Lippman over the weekend, and it was flagged for deletion. I replied in the talk page with the reasoning, but instead of having a conversation you decided to delete it straight away. This is not how we improve Wikipedia or public knowledge - we do that through discussion and making sure everything is done by the rules. (LifeLearning (talk) 09:54, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Hello, LifeLearning. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.Deb (talk) 09:42, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi. The article has been deleted from mainspace after being nominated for speedy deletion. Although you were informed several times above that the draft had failed review because it didn't meet the criteria for inclusion, you went ahead and moved it to mainspace yourself. Please don't attempt to do so again. Deb (talk) 09:42, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Deb.
- I was not informed even once that it was nominated for deletion. The editor of a Israel's largest English-language newspaper is worthy of a Wikipedia article, so long as it adheres to living biography standards. If there are specific errors let's fix them, but removing it is the wrong move, and doing so without warning is not ok. (LifeLearning (talk) 09:51, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- There is no requirement to inform contributors when an article is speedily deleted. What made you think it was okay to move a draft to mainspace without it passing a review?
- Please remember to declare any conflict of interest before requesting undeletion. Deb (talk) 09:57, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- The speedy deletion clearly says you can argue against it in the page talk space, which I did; courtesy would be to answer, even if you don't have to.
- I understand the COI rules. LifeLearning (talk) 10:05, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Glenn R. Cohen

Thank you for your interest in the Arab–Israeli conflict. Due to past disruption, a special set of rules apply to anyone editing in this topic area. Specifically, only extended confirmed editors are allowed to make direct edits and page creations to this topic area. Since you currently do not meet the requirements to contribute to this topic area, the page you created has been nominated for speedy deletion under G5.
If you think this page does not fall under the general sanctions described, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Additionally you may wish to read about the topic restrictions here. EaglesFan37 (talk) 23:07, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Arik Kilemnik when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.

Hello, I'm Zackmann08. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Yair Naveh, but you didn't provide a reliable source. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation, your edit is archived in the page history. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 16:02, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- Most of the work on Yair Naveh was reorganizing the information into a clear, Wiki-style format. There was very little new information added. Also now, after the revert, you leave the details but in a format that reads like a biography or CV, and not as structured as it should be.
- I'll add citations, but it should 100% be restored to the changes I made. ~~~~ LifeLearning (talk) 16:11, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

- Feel free to share what information I added without a source. Comparing the versions right now, and I don't think there is any. ~~~~ LifeLearning (talk) 16:19, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

- The entire Education section.
- Nearly the entire Military Career section.
After his military service, Naveh was appointed as CEO of CityPass, the consortium building the Jerusalem Light Rail.
Naveh lives in Zikhron Ya'akov with his wife. The couple have four children.
- If you cannot see that those are unsourced additions to the article, I genuinely cannot help you. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 16:22, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- I'll accept, I added the name of the university he studied in, and the city he resides in. However - the education (his degrees), role on the light rail and military career (without the appropriate ranks) all appear in the version you reverted to. So why claim I added them? LifeLearning (talk) 17:19, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Zackmann08 - I've redone some of the changes on the Yair Naveh page. Any information I added is sourced - other things were moved around as part of the formatting, but note they were there and not added by me. Best. LifeLearning (talk) 19:56, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

Thanks for the request! Unfortunately, the deleted article was a copyright infringement, so I won't restore it, but you can consult the infringed page if you'd like. Nyttend (talk) 08:33, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- The link I gave you was from the deletion log, so I know it was correct at the time. I just consulted the deleted version, and it's about an Israeli violinist; what you got is the result of Domain drop catching, and perhaps Domain hijacking. The violinist's page has expired, so someone else registered it as a way of spamming people who had previously saved, or linked, the website of the violinist. Nyttend (talk) 19:50, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days, and you are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. Sarsenet•he/they•(talk) 11:40, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
