- I understand my unblock request was declined. I apologize. I will not edit the Yomi Boiz article directly due to conflict of interest. I will only use the article talk page to make edit requests with citations from independent sources like GhanaWeb, MyJoyOnline, and Pulse Ghana. I accept that my username violated policy and I am requesting the name KwameMusicFan. I will read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Autobiography before editing. I understand my username violates policy and I have a COI. I want to follow Wikipedia's rules and only request edits on Talk pages with reliable sources. I request a username change to something personal like "KofiAtAccra". Thank you. KwameMusicFan (talk) 00:14, 9 June 2026 (UTC)

- Also, your account has only just been renamed, why are you asking for it to be renamed again? --DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:47, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I didn’t know the account had been renamed before. I just want a personal username with no "Fan" in it, like "KwameMensah". - Kwame, I don't believe that your band qualifies for a Wikipedia article. However, if you wish to continue editing the draft you created, you will need to follow the paid editing policy, which includes properly disclosing your conflict of interest on your user page or on the draft talk page. Do you understand and accept that? voorts (talk/contributions) 20:23, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

- Hello Voorts,
- Thank you for the chance to fix this. I understand now.
- I am Appiah Daniel, a member of Yomi Boiz music duo from Asamankese, Eastern Region.
- I will add this disclosure to my user page immediately:

KwameMusicFan, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, discloses that they have been paid by Yomi Boiz for their contributions to Wikipedia. - Going forward, I will only suggest edits on the draft Talk page and let neutral editors make changes. I will not edit the article directly.
- I understand and accept Wikipedia’s paid editing policy.
- Thank you. KwameMusicFan (talk) 05:07, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- Using AI to generate talk page comments is prohibited. See WP:AITALK. You need to respond personally to every message. Since it is unlikely that we will accept an article about your band, is there anything else you are interested in editing about? voorts (talk/contributions) 05:16, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hello Voorts,
- Sorry about that. I’m Daniel from Ghana. I didn’t know I couldn’t use help to write.
- I wrote this myself now. I understand the rules and I will follow them.
- Please unblock me so I can contribute properly. Thank you. KwameMusicFan (talk) 05:22, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- Is there anything other than your band that you would like to edit about? voorts (talk/contributions) 05:40, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hello Voorts,
- Thank you for asking. Yes, I understand Wikipedia has rules for notability and sources.
- For now, while I wait for unblock, I can help edit other Ghana-related topics. I’m from Asamankese, Eastern Region, so I know about local history, schools, and culture there.
- Example: I can add citations or fix grammar on pages about Asamankese town, Eastern Region schools, or Ghanaian highlife music history.
- But my main goal is to learn Wikipedia rules properly first. I will not touch Yomi Boiz draft until I get 3 proper independent sources and follow COI rules.
- Thank you for the guidance. KwameMusicFan (talk) 06:39, 13 June 2026 (UTC)

- Hello Wikipedia Administrators,
- My current username "KwameMusicFan" violates Wikipedia's username policy because it is promotional.
- I was unblocked today by Drm310 after agreeing to stop editing about my band Yomi Boiz directly and to follow conflict of interest guidelines.
- To fully comply with policy, I request to change my username to my real name.
- I have a conflict of interest with Yomi Boiz. After rename, I will add the
disclosure to my user page and only post edit requests on Talk pages.
This user, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, discloses that they have been paid by {{{employer}}} for their contributions to Wikipedia. - Thank you for considering my request. KwameMusicFan (talk) 13:20, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Your original username "Yomi Bois" was in violation of the username policy. You requested it to be changed to policy-compliant username "KwameMusicFan", which was done on June 8. There is no issue with your current username.
- However, if you want to change it again, then you can submit a request yourself at Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:11, 17 June 2026 (UTC)

Edit request: Add 2024 single "Message from Christ" ft Normano Love & Shaze
This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
I have a conflict of interest as I am paid by Yomi Boiz. Per WP:COI, I am requesting an edit instead of editing directly.
- Proposed change:** Add to Career/Artist section: "In 2024, Yomi Boiz released 'Message from Christ' with Normano Love and Shaze."

- Where (in which article) do you want this edit made? You don't normally post edit requests on your own talk page, you do it on the talk page of the article in question. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:02, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

- I have deleted the page Talk:Yomi Boiz. There should not be a talk page for an article that does not exist. Please do not recreate it.
- Also, I thought you agreed not to edit about your band? Wasn't that how you got yourself unblocked? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:27, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Sorry about the Talk page. I didn't realize the article must exist first.
- Question: Am I allowed to submit Yomi Boiz for article creation via AFC, or does my unblock condition ban all edits about the band including requests? I want to follow the rules. Thank you DanielAppiahGH (talk) 07:33, 18 June 2026 (UTC) DanielAppiahGH (talk) 07:33, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Technically, you are allowed to edit in the draft space on topics in which you have a COI, as long as you put your drafts through review rather than publishing directly.
- However, I was under the impression that, if unblocked, you would be helping us develop the encyclopaedia rather than promoting your band. Was I mistaken? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:40, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for clarifying. I understand draft space + AFC review is the correct process for COI topics.
- And yes, I do want to help develop the encyclopedia. I have COI with Yomi Boiz, but I can also contribute to other Ghana/music topics without COI.
- If you think it’s better, I can start by editing non-COI articles first to prove I’m here to help, then submit Yomi Boiz draft later via AFC.
- Please advise what you’d prefer. I want to follow your guidance. Thank you DanielAppiahGH (talk) 08:40, 18 June 2026 (UTC) DanielAppiahGH (talk) 08:40, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, I would very much like to see that you can make meaningful contributions to topics in which you have no COI (even indirectly), before returning to the draft on your band. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:09, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi DoubleGrazing, I’ve made 1 meaningful edit as requested.
- Username: DanielAppiahGH
- Article: Hiplife
- Date: 18 June 2026 09:52 GMT
- Edit summary: Add sourced 2020s section - no COI
- I added a new ===2020s=== section with 2 citations from MyJoyOnline and Graphic Online. You can check my revision history and the wikicode on the Hiplife page to verify.
- Please let me know if this counts as my 1 meaningful edit. Thank you! DanielAppiahGH (talk) 10:08, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Well, no. Firstly, both of the sources you cited came back as 'page not found' (404). Secondly, you don't add content at the bottom of the page, after references etc., you add it in the main article body.
- In any case, you don't need to list here each edit you make, and I don't intend to review them one by one. I rather meant you should carry on making useful edits to the encyclopaedia for a good while (say off the top of my head, several weeks and maybe 100+ edits at the very least) before returning to the subject of your band. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:16, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi DoubleGrazing,
- Thank you for reviewing my edit and for the feedback. I appreciate you taking time to check it.
- I apologize for the mistakes:
- 1. The 404 errors - I must have copied the URLs wrong. I will find working links and test them before adding.
- 2. Placement - I didn’t realize new sections go above References. I’ll make sure to add content in the main article body next time.
- I understand your point about making 100+ edits over several weeks before editing about my band. I will follow that advice.
- Could you please tell me:
- 1. If I fix the links and move the section to the correct place, would that count as 1 meaningful edit?
- 2. What types of edits would you recommend for me to build experience? I’m happy to improve other Ghana music articles.
- Thank you again for your guidance. I want to edit properly and follow Wikipedia rules.
- DanielAppiahGH (talk) 10:XX, 18 June 2026 (UTC) DanielAppiahGH (talk) 10:22, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- There is plenty of advice and help available to help you get started, see eg. A primer for newcomers and Contributing to Wikipedia.
- Anything that improves the encyclopaedia is a useful edit in my book. Edits which are only made to reach some arbitrary edit count figure, such as adding unnecessary wikilinks or changing a word for the sake of changing it, are not IMO useful. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:30, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi DoubleGrazing,
- Thank you for the links to the primer and contributing guide. I will read them and start making useful edits to other Ghana music articles.
- I understand now - quality over edit count. I won’t make trivial changes just to reach a number.
- I’ll come back in a few weeks after building experience, and ask for guidance before editing about my band again.
- Appreciate your patience with a newcomer.

- Hi PattersonWU,
- Thank you for marking this as resolved.
- Could you please clarify if "resolved" means the edit for "Message from Christ" was approved and added to the article? Or does it mean the request was declined/closed?
- I want to make sure I understand the outcome so I can follow Wikipedia rules properly.
- Thank you for your time.
