Lotharella is a genus of chlorarachid alga that includes five species.¹ It is the only genus in the family Lotharellidae.²

The five species in the genus are L. globosa,³ L. oceanica,⁴ L. polymorpha,⁵ L. reticulosa,⁶ and L. vacuolata.⁷ In 2000, it was announced that a new species in the genus Lotharella was found in Japan.⁸ The species was named Lotharella amoeboformis.
