mo.co is a free-to-play mobile MMORPG developed by and published by Supercell. It was released in beta throughout 2023 and 2024 before receiving a global release on March 18, 2025 through invites in the form of QR codes and links available from various live streamers and new players.12

Gameplay

Old mo.co

On release, mo.co was a massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG), where players would take the role of a recruit who joined a new monster-hunting startup.34 Players would have the choice to a variety of weapons, gadgets, and passives which they would use in fights against various monsters.

The timeline of the game was organized into various chapters that would change every few months, offering new worlds, boss fights, and storylines.

Neo mo.co

On September 26, 2025, the game announced a large revamp, which would significantly change base aspects and mechanics of the game due to player feedback.5 The reboot, named neo mo.co, would feature huge changes, such as chapters being remade into month-long seasons, a new leveling system, and a gacha system.67

Release

In October of 2023, a beta for mo.co was released on Android phones within the United States.8

After a few years spent in beta, mo.co would receive an invite-only release on March 18, 2025. The invites were primarily spread through QR codes provided by content creators in various livestreams, while some players would be able to apply to the game, and all players would receive invite links upon reaching Level 5 in-game.9 Some reviewers would see this unconventional method for Supercell as a strategy that utilized both Supercell's prominence within the video game community and a fear of missing out to arouse curiosity among gamers and industry professionals.3

Reception

Mo.co has received positive and mixed reviews from critics on Metacritic.10 It has also received an overall 8.8/10 for Metacritic's user reviews. The overall public sentiments criticized the lack of depth within the game, while also critiquing the repetitive gameplay, the lack of meaningful progress, and the general lack of content.511 These sentiments would be addressed by the developers in the announcement for the revamp into neo mo.co.7

Metro GameCentral's Nick Gillett gave mo.co a 7/10, remarking that the MMO format served as "an interesting new direction for [Supercell]."12

GamingOnPhone's Tousif Biswas gave mo.co an overall 9/10, noting on its free-to-play direction and praising its audio and visuals as well as its core gameplay, but criticizing its repetitive nature and its unpolished social experience.4

As of May 2026, mo.co had received over 8.5 million downloads, earning a total revenue of around $5 million.1 This revenue would be the subject of comparison to some of Supercell's other games, with a critic noting "MoCo is doing ~$5M lifetime – about one day of Brawl Stars revenue".11
