"Crimean Turkmen"
Can you elaborate this? Beshogur (talk) 22:17, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi, do you know Abdal people of Turkey (Which are Turkmens too)? They have their cryptolect. Crimean Turkmens (which are not the same as South Crimean Tatars) are connected with Abdals from Turkey, they also have a cryptolect (Here you can read more). It's like Äynu language (also called Abdal), which is a cryptolect too.

- Seems imaginary. How come I can't find anything about this? And please avoid edit warring. Beshogur (talk) 17:14, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
- Anyways 0 attestation of the language. Don't add it back please. Beshogur (talk) 17:19, 28 June 2026 (UTC)

- I know those cryptolects, but it doesn't mean they're notable to be listed as a separate Turkic language. They're supposed to be hidden from outsiders. How do you know if they're dialects? Crimean Turkmen dialect seems to be forced. Beshogur (talk) 18:32, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- The discussion is not about "dialect or language". Because it's a cryptolect, this doesn't mean this language can't be on the agenda or in linguistical classification. These are Turkic based, like Äynu (even same name "Abdal"). So, why can Äynu stay in classification but not these? Tkmen (talk) 19:07, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Can you put here some words of this "langauge"? Why did nobody place this here on wikipedia until 2026? Your article of Crimean Turkmens is mix of unrelated stuff. Beshogur (talk) 16:42, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

Citation advice
Hi! I spend a lot of time reviewing Eastern Europe and Western Asia articles and trying to improve citations and noticed that you were new and so I thought you could use a few pointers. Here are a few things to keep in mind to help with
- Whenever possible, include a url link to the source that you are citing, and use citation templates instead of basic citations. For example when Beshogur claimed that your citation to Сейдаметов Н. Туркменлер кимлердир? [Кто такие туркмены?] // Азат Кърым. 1942. 27 марта. С. 3. Пер. М. Б. Кизилова. as not verifiable (they were being a bit lazy IMHO, if they just googled the title they would see a jpg of the newspaper clipping of the article as the very first result in google), next time, do the citation like this instead:
- Seidametov, Nejati (27 March 1942). "Туркменлер кимлердир". Azat Qırım. p. 3.
This way, the other user can have an opportunity to read the article titled "Туркменлер кимлердир" that you are by going to the journal article by Kizilov and scrolling to the page with the newspaper clipping you are citing to.
- Always include the name of the pages and issue number of the journals you cite. Include the ISSN number too if there is one, this makes it easier for other people to find copies. For example, instead of citing to İnalcık, Halil (2005). Türkler ve Balkanlar., make your citation like this by including so people can find it:
- İnalcık, Halil (2005). "Türkler ve Balkanlar" (PDF). BAL-TAM Türklük Bilgisi (3): 20–44. ISSN 1452-2179.
You are doing a good job by choosing sources from academic journals, but unfortunately most editors do not want to spend any time trying to find a source, so it will be easier for your edits to be approved if you improve your citations to make them a little bit easier to verify. Granted, I think other editors are a bit unreasonable when they say source is not verifiable simply because you didn't include a url when the information is already freely available online for them to find, but you should always make your citations as easy to check as possible.--CitationAuditor (talk) 01:50, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hi, thank you for your support and advice. I will try to do my best. Tkmen (talk) 08:33, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
- Can you please now add specific page numbers to your citations to Kiel, Stānescu, İnalcık, and Mavrina? I figured out the page ranges of the entire articles, but the citations should point to the exact page that has the information that you are citing.--CitationAuditor (talk) 21:50, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
- I added them now. Tkmen (talk) 20:25, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
