New Template

Hey, I'm Vestrix. I was wondering how to make a new infobox and I'm messaging you because I saw you made Template:Infobox_French_Subdivision and I really liked the style. I used it quite a bit in my intercommunity articles. I want to make smt similar but it gave me a warning saying it was a template loop. Could you look at it? The template is Template:Infobox French Consulate General. Thanks! Vestrix (talk) 18:44, 6 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi Vestrix, the template transcludes itself, that's what causes the loop. {{Infobox French subdivision}} is actually not an independent infobox template, but it's a wrapper for {{Infobox settlement}}. I suppose you could look for other articles about consulates or embassies, and see what kind of infoboxes they use. See for instance Embassy of the United States, London, that uses {{Infobox diplomatic mission}}. Maybe you can use that infobox. Markussep Talk 20:05, 12 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Aberdaron

Hi, can you do me a favour and update the demography for this for 2021 I guess it would be? It just needs the recent figures. I've just added a few citations to some unsourced claims. The article is up for GAR that's all. It's a good article, would be a shame to see it delisted. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:45, 9 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

I tried to find the census results, but they're well hidden, I only found a rounded estimate for 2022: 900.1

A goat for you!

2022 Kyrgyzstani census

Hi there! Do you think you could help create a template for the 2022 Kyrgyzstani census, like the 2009 one? The results of the new census are available on the stat.gov.kg website, but the page is rather confusing. Here's a direct link to a PDF with the results in Russian. Nataev talk 22:52, 26 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Certainly, I’ll take a look at it in a week or so. Markussep Talk 17:46, 29 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Great, thank you very much! Nataev talk 20:46, 31 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I made a template for the 2022 census results, see {{Cite Kyrgyzstan census 2022}}. I also made a citation template for the 2025 population data for Kyrgyzstan, see {{Cite Kyrgyzstan population 2025}}. There is no archived version of that excel file yet, I'll check again in some weeks and add it if I find it. I added both templates to the Samarkandek article. Proposed deletion of Coșei

Notice
source ↗

The article Coșei has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability beyond basic statistics (length, tributary relationship) derivable from the Romanian river cadastre. No sources exist beyond the cadastral database entry, and web searches in both English and Romanian return no independent coverage of this 16 km stream. Per WP:NGEO, named natural features require information beyond statistics and coordinates to be known to exist; this article cannot be developed into an encyclopedic article using known sources, and the content could instead be covered in a sentence at Maja (river).

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Bearian (talk) 04:18, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

About a list of administrative places in Turkey

I have stumbled upon your message in another user's page. I am able to think about some substitutes for this purpose, such as the Address-based Population System results which are published by Turkstat. It is accessible from here, however it doesn't provide a direct link nor lists any localities under 10-because under Turkish law if a place falls under 10 it must be administratively abolished (which will be published in the Official Gazette and will be connected into another locality with a village/neighbourhood administration. And also lists organized industrial zones. ahmetlii  (Please ping me on a reply!) 15:24, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Ahmetlii: thanks, I already knew that system. There are lists of municipalities, villages, neighbourhoods etc. under the "Favorite Reports" link on https://biruni.tuik.gov.tr/medas/?kn=95&locale=en. There were some differences in spelling etc. with the lists on https://www.e-icisleri.gov.tr/Anasayfa/MulkiIdariBolumleri.aspx, but unfortunately they're not live anymore. Markussep Talk 17:05, 15 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Markussep Wait... I have never thought about checking the actual link. The second link you have mentioned is actually working when typed exactly; it's just not working with my foreign IP which is a common problem for government websites... I suppose they had blocked access to non-Turkish IPs.
And the list is up-to-date: I have checked it for a village, that I found to have its name changed on 15 February. If you manage to get a Turkish, preferably residential, IP through a VPN you might check it out for yourself. Or if you can't find one just mail to me; I'd be able to send any PDFs you might need or provide a proxy. ahmetlii  (Please ping me on a reply!) 19:34, 17 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Neighbourhoods in Doğanyol

source ↗

A tag has been placed on Category:Neighbourhoods in Doğanyol indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 19:06, 20 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Dunărea (river)

Notice
source ↗

The article Dunărea (river) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I think this entire article is based on a misunderstanding. There is not a distinct river called "Dunărea" here. The watercourse in question is just a branch of the Danube ("Dunărea" in Romanian). I think someone has mistaken the rightmost braid running from Seimeni to the village Dunărea for something more than just one more braid as the Danube approaches its delta. It's pretty clear if you look at this map on Google Maps.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Bucur River

Deprod because there is evidence online that this river (creek?) exists. If you think it's not significant enough coverage, then take it to AfD. Bearian (talk) 01:08, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Bearian:, what did you find online about this river? If the coordinates in the article are correct, it must be a very short (1-2 km) stream. Markussep Talk 06:34, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I clicked on the Google links. Bearian (talk) 09:23, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I checked the Google links: they're all about different places (a river in Nepal named Bucur, the Bârsa lui Bucur in south-central Romania) or a person named Bucur. I'll nominate it for deletion then. Markussep Talk 09:48, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Administraţia Naţională Apelor Române - Cadastrul Apelor - Bucureşti

Hi, you are removing this source in many articles. Can you please point me to where I can see it to check as well? Many of these rivers are written somewhat differently in different places, I'ld like to take a look at that source. Fram (talk) 10:16, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Sure, it is here. The main difference in spelling I see is â vs. î, the latter being more or less outphased since the 1990s, except for the beginning of words. Markussep Talk 10:31, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Seems to have been superseded by some recent project from the administration, but I can't find that online, only press releases about it, so I thought you perhaps had access to that one. Fram (talk) 10:46, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Bois-le-Roi station

Hello and thank you for your half a million edits! I was looking at your numerous edits on railway stations in France (thanks a lot!); on Bois-le-Roi station, no service to Montargis is mentioned, while at the bottom of the French Wikipedia page, such a service exists. No idea if this is the case or how to check, but I thought I'd mention it :) Thanks again! PalleyCov2030 (talk) 22:36, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

You are right, there are direct Transilien R services now. I checked it at bahn.de, probably there are recent timetables at transilien.com you can refer to. Markussep Talk 08:21, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
