@RedShellMomentum: Wow, thanks a dozen for the barnstar! I didn't do all that much at the PR except a bit of source review, but I appreciate this gesture. Leafy46 (talk) 22:01, 10 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Now that it's over with

Well, we did it. Once again, this has been a great project and it's been an honor working together on this. But I do have one more question: do you have any sort of intent or plans to get any song from the topic to featured status?

I currently have "The Foundations of Decay" at FAC. If that goes well, I hope that it won't be the end and there's FA potential for other My Chem songs, even if the road to it may be painful. If you ever had plans to go for an FA on one, even if just one, let me know. That's something I'd be down to collaborate and maybe co-nom on, depending on the song. λ NegativeMP1 20:51, 10 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@NegativeMP1: It's been amazing working with you to. I'll definitely have to see about FA'ing any of those songs, since I've never actually had an FA before (currently doing a PR for Alone (The Cure song) in anticipation of my first nomination). I'd love to do it in the future, though, and I will definitely let you know if plans ever materialize :) Leafy46 (talk) 23:16, 10 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Well technically, neither of us have had a music FA before (I tried in the past when I was pursuing the American Idiot topic, but that went horrifically). So it'd be largely unfamiliar territory for the both of us. But I hope that both "Foundations" and eventually "Alone" can pass; maybe after both of those we can explore the options on what songs are doable and what would have to be done. Full disclosure though, I don't think all of the songs could be FA'd, nor do I think we could upgrade the topic itself to Featured. We can cross that bridge (i.e. figuring out what songs have potential) when we get there though.
P.S. Let me know when you nominate "Alone", I'll be sure to review it. λ NegativeMP1 00:18, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Well, "Foundations" passed, so now we have precedent. I'll probably start thinking about what other songs can be FA before long. I will say also that I might have another idea in mind for a song FA that could take precedent over the MCR songs (depends). Will explore both options to see if the other is even feasible itself. λ NegativeMP1 16:22, 1 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Congrats on the promotion! I've given it some thought and would love to try and get a WP:FOUR on "You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison", but I am probably going to focus on "Alone" for the time being since that's the one I already have open at peer review. Do keep me updated if you're thinking about FAing another MCR track :) Leafy46 (talk) 22:48, 1 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I think realistically the best chances for FAs are the singles. Mainly "I'm Not Okay", probably all of the ones off of The Black Parade, and "Na Na Na". They got the most coverage. "Foundations" for that exact reason was sort-of easy pickings. Non-singles like "Prison" I'm more skeptical on but I don't think it's exactly impossible.
One concern I do have is that during the FAC process for "Foundations", it was brought up that an MCR song ranking I included could be removed for seeming relatively trivial. A lot of the MCR song articles are built off of those rankings, for better or for worse, and would probably need reconstruction to follow WP:RECEPTION. They're good for GA, but just that some things might need to be refactored for FA.
Anywho, I'll worry more about planning for that, and determining which articles could work, when the time comes where both you and I could focus on it. λ NegativeMP1 02:59, 2 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Another slight update: I started toying around with "Demolition Lovers" and that might have a chance too. If it does, then songs like "Prison" or "Mama" should be perfectly doable. But, again, we can worry more about that later. I might try "Demolition Lovers" at PR and FAC on my own terms though; I imagine there's no issue with pursuing that since it isn't on MDNSY and you never worked on it? λ NegativeMP1 21:54, 4 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, no issues there if you're down for it. If it does wind up at FAC, let me know and I'll do my best to give it a review :) Leafy46 (talk) 22:00, 4 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
The FAC will take a while to get to (I want to explore other songs still first, plus take my time), but I did just create a peer review page for it. I'll see how that goes and then explore that song from there. λ NegativeMP1 22:13, 4 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

FAC

Hey Leafy, I appreciate your input at the FAC for "Die with a Smile". I just want to note, that FAC is not a place to revamp an entire article, and my comments were more than mere "nitpicks". To that extent, I don't think my review was particularly unfair, and I had to voice my opinion when I deemed an article was not one of the "best of the best" that Wikipedia has to offer. It was disheartening that you said, I genuinely don't think that your problems go as deep as you believe they do - it felt like my good faith of genuinely wanting to improve the article was questioned, even though you might not have meant it. But anyway, I'm leaving this note hoping that you did not take my goodwill for malign intentions. Cheers, Ippantekina (talk) 19:41, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Ippantekina: I don't hold any ill will, especially after you apologized earlier for what I perceived as an infringement on my good faith response to your comment. And I also don't believe that your comments were unfair; I'll chalk this one up to inexperience on my part with the FA process, since I'm not the one with almost thirty FAs.
The misunderstanding was that I believed the FA process was like the GA/PR processes, where a collaborative setting is supposed to take place to improve the article. Of course a first-time nominator would not have a perfect or even near-perfect article, given that the FA criteria are so strict; the 15% promotion rate for first time nominators speaks for itself. It is for this reason why I read your initial comment as kinda WP:BITE-y, since it felt like you were just saying "Good riddance, you are out of your depth and don't belong here".
However, when you stepped in to help improve the article, that's when I dropped this line of thinking. You should understand, though, that I was only trying to defend someone I thought was "bitten", when their only crime was being a first-time FA nominator. I'm also sorry you felt hurt by my comment about the article's problems being more surface-level. I never intended it to be a stab directed at your good-faith attempt to help, and I have at no point thought that you were doing it for any malicious reason outside of quality control. I hope you accept my apology. Leafy46 (talk) 20:37, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
