National varieties of English
Hello. In a recent edit to the page Northrop P-61 Black Widow, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.
For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.
In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. BilCat (talk) 04:27, 28 March 2025 (UTC)

Zan Times Translation
Hello EmDashUser002,
I have been talking to Titlutin (https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Discussion_utilisateur%3ATitlutin&_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en)(Thread: Zan Times) and the Translators link that Titlutin provided brought me to you.
If you cannot see the Zan Times thread, let me know and I can fill you in on the details.
The short story is that I have been asked by Zan Times to create an english Wikipedia page for them but Titlutin already has one in french and Zan Times has said that the content is totally fine.
The page is here: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zan_Times
I am hoping you can translate the page so that there can be a Zan Times page on the english wikipedia.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Sivarik (talk) 19:09, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
- Forgot to say – I am a technical writer/editor and can help out by correcting the google translation of Titlutin's page to provide an english version so you would only need to compare it to the french one to make sure the translation is right. Whatever works for you. (-: Sivarik (talk) 19:19, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Sivarik,
- I'll help you as soon as I can. Although, there may be some complications—in other words, I will most likely have to first "create" a page then link it to the French version at Wikidata—since I have not met the necessary requirements to use the translation tool on the English Wikipedia yet.
- I'll hopefully be finished by the end of this week.
- EmDashUser002 (Talk | Contribs) @ 19:11, 21 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi EmDashUser002, thanks very much for getting back to me!
- Are you planning to have be an english version of the page,
- or just a few lines that point someone to the French version?
- If just a few lines, I can provide you with a translated version of the french page so that the english page will have the same content as the french one. Sivarik (talk) 20:30, 21 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Sivarik,
- I intend on translating the whole page myself.
- In order to save my work, I started the page in one of my sandboxes, which you may view here.
- If you would like (once I have finished) you may feel free to copyedit or change any parts as necessary—be bold!.
- EmDashUser002 (Talk | Contribs) @ 02:15, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
- "be bold!"
- yeah, right.
- i am very new to the Wikipedia editing world and it is daunting!
- but thank you for the encouragement! and even more for your support!
- (—: Sivarik (talk) 11:43, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
- just got a long enough break to check your sandbox. wow! great going!
- (-: Sivarik (talk) 16:15, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Sivarik,
- I have finished the translation—thus, the translation was moved out of my sandbox and moved to the "Main" namespace. It can be accessed at
w:en:Zan Timesfor viewing and editing. - EmDashUser002 (Talk | Contribs) @ 03:42, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- migosh!! this is fabulous! i am sure Zahra Nader will be overjoyed! thank you so much EmDashUser002!
- is the page 'live' now? that is, can Ms. Nader see it without having a wikipedia account, just a normal user?
- i would like to add an attribution to the original french article and Ms. Nader may want to add references. however, i will have to learn how to edit a page first and that may take awhile. if i run into difficulties, do you mind of i ask you for help?
- thanks again SO much! Sivarik (talk) 11:25, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Sivarik,
- Yes, as I have mentioned earlier, it is in the “Main” namapace—meaning it is in the state of what you called “live”. If you would like to see it yourself, you can try logging out to see a non-user interface.
- As for attribution, I have tried my best—copyright disclaimers linking to the exact source page (can be done by finding a page's oldid in “Permanent link”) in most edit summaries, as well as a little box in the "References section" of the article essentially indicating the same thing, these two elements all present in the article.
- I theoretically could help or assist in your editing quest—in fact, I do not mind at all answering your questions as long as it is within reason—although, it may be better to ask a sysop or have a proper mentor to aid you. If you are confident in self-learning but lacking most knowledge of markup (like me!), may I suggest “The Wikipedia Adventure”. If markup is too much for you, the VisualEditor is a more WYSIWYG-style method to edit Wikipedia.
- Happy editing!
- EmDashUser002 (Talk | Contribs) @ 19:27, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- with respect and gratitude, i thank you very much EmDashUser002, for myself and Zahra Nader. Sivarik (talk) 20:45, 23 July 2025 (UTC)

Request for translation from French
Hey! I'm so sorry to bother you, but I've been hitting a bit of a wall on a topic and figured that you might be able to help. I'm trying to find out how much the company Acapela Group was involved with a project named "Synthèse Technologique Optimisée de la Parole", and if any of the research from that project is publicly available. Because the project was funded by the French government, every paper I can find on it is in French, and it's difficult to tell if the papers I do find are actually relevant to that company's contributions or not. If you're able to do a quick Google Scholar search and see if there's anything that seems relevant, I'd really appreciate it. Don't worry about translating the full sources or anything, I just need to see if there's something I'm missing because I'm not looking in the right places. - Hi @JarJarInks,
- It's fine—I enjoy helping others, and receiving direct requests motivates me.
- I have not found any explicit relationship between “Acapela Group” and “Synthèse Technologique Optimisée de la Parole”—rather, searching exclusively the latter in Google Scholar yields no results—however, I have found some references that could be of use for your Userspace subpage.
- From what I have found, “Acapela Group” is a “[…] key player in the branch of vocal solutions”1 and their Harry, Rosie, Josh and Ella “synthesized voices conditions […] provides text-to-speech solutions to vocalize speech with authentic and original voices that express meaning and intent”2.
- Feel free to press “edit” on this page to copy-paste the references—just don't forget to press cancel!

Translation request
Greetings, I see you are mentioned at Wikipedia:Translators_available#French. I was wondering if you can translate this source for Lake Tauca, I am not sure how good DeepL and Google Translate are at French. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 13:17, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @Jo-Jo Eumerus,
- There is some Cyrillic in the file—shall I leave it alone? Otherwise, I'll let you know when it's completed, uploaded to the Internet Archive.
- Cordially – EmDashUser002 (Talk | Contribs) @ 13:48, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
- Nah, we can live without the Cyrillic text. JoJo Eumerus mobile (main talk) 08:11, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @Jo-Jo Eumerus,
- The translation for your source, “Les diatomées des dépôts lacustres quaternaires de l'Altiplano bolivien”, is completed—I arranged for its upload to the Internet Archive: https://ia600702.us.archive.org/20/items/translation_diatoms-in-the-altiplano-quaternary-lacustrine-deposits-1978/Translation_The_Diatoms_of_the_Quaternary_Lacustrine_Deposits_of_the_Bolivian_Altiplano.pdf
- I apologize for the immense delay, I struggled understanding the text sufficiently to provide a thorough translation. I tried my best to balance legibility with conservation of the author's voice and intent.
- I maintained the original author's typographic choices, syntactic arrangement, content per page—to minimize citation discrepancies—and formatting to the best of my capacities.
- Conversely, I tried to adapt modality to conform with contemporary norms, and corrected obvious grammatical mistakes—such as comma splice, effaced characters, typo is nonexistent in English language.
- Most images are not translated, as I assumed they are obvious enough to not require translating (ex. “Form. Tauca” is untouched since it undoubtedly translates to “Tauca form[ation].”). Those images are also of good resolution and quality, so I did not bother tracing them to vector. Let me know if you encounter any mistakes or confusing passages, I'll update the translation.
- Cordially – EmDashUser002 (Talk | Contribs) @ 23:58, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks despite the delay. I'll credit in the edit summary. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 07:11, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for March 28
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ship's rail, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bulwark was added. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Translation request: English to French
Hi EmDashUser002! I'm WikipedianWith23Letters and I found your name on Wikipedia:Translators available.
I was wondering if you could translate this article into French: International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence
The article covers an annual event with growing focus from teens worldwide. I'd be glad if you could help spread the information to students around the globe!
Merci d'avance! WikipedianWith23Letters (talk) 13:47, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hello WikipedianWith23Letters,
- I am currently busy—filling out a request for Jo-Jo Eumerus, and helping Nibnab43637, who is next in line. Otherwise, I should have more time for long-term contributions, including requests, after mid-June.
