Focus on editing, not people
I strongly recommend that you read through policies and guidelines including:
Neither Metallurgist nor I can claim significant credit for these - the editing statistics show that neither of us is in the top 20 editors of these pages by contributed content fractions. So they are not "our" personal policies and guidelines.
I remember when I first edited Wikipedia and other wikis, and I did feel angry when other people edited my contributions in ways that I felt were unreasonable - this is a natural reaction. After initially feeling angry, what is needed is to look at the edits more carefully, and try to understand why they were done. In most cases, it turns out that the other editor is more or less right, though maybe not quite right. In the cases where the other editor really seems to be wrong, WP:AGF and WP:NPA turn out to be crucial. That generally leads to explanations and consensus. Boud (talk) 17:18, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- Just to add an aspect of WP:NPA - focus on what the editor did in terms of editing, rather than what you think the editor's intentions are. I very much like the {{URL to diff}} template to show diffs - instructions are at the template itself. (You can use {{diff}} or any other convenient template.) This is at the heart of WP:AGF. - Parts of an article that dont belong can be removed at any time and it can help make clear what on an article actually belongs there. This can be additions or deletions. Removing parts of an article that are improper can help clarify whether it is notable or not. Bisharat is not notable, but the AFD consensus was for keep. I tried desperately to find sourcing to justify it, but couldnt. Since then, Ive made efforts to improve the article for you. Metallurgist (talk) 18:39, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
