I think this entire article is based on a misunderstanding. There is not a distinct river called "Dunărea" here. The watercourse in question is just a branch of the Danube ("Dunărea" in Romanian). I think someone has mistaken the rightmost braid running from Seimeni to the village Dunărea for something more than just one more braid as the Danube approaches its delta. It's pretty clear if you look at this map on Google Maps.
