Option to use / instead of brackets to separate release date and release version?
I feel like that would help with consistency especially when used in conjunction with Template:Multiple releases Nathanielcwm (talk) 08:59, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
Error: Preview and article do not produce the same result.
The template LSR, such as:
{{LSR
| article = Linux
| latest release version = 5.13
| latest release date = {{Start date and age|2021|06|27|df=yes}}
}}
does not produce the same result in preview like a live article.
In preview it shows the correct day difference (today (2021-07-06): "9 days ago"), But it shows Template:Latest stable software release/Linux ("1 day ago") instead, as it were 28 June 2021 today. Go, edit the previous link and check it out!

No edit link if Template:Wikidata is used
I think this template should able to detect whether {{Wikidata}} is used to display version number and date, to my eyes, if {{Wikidata}} is used, this template should hide the [±] link. --Great Brightstar (talk) 15:12, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
Don't we need references item for this template?

Delay in Reflecting Wikidata Updates on Wikipedia
Any changes or updates to a Wikidata item should be reflected in the corresponding Wikipedia article without delay. However, it appears that there is a delay—possibly several hours—which is unacceptable. I am unsure whether this issue is caused by the "Software Infobox" or "Latest stable release" template, or whether it stems from a server-side problem in either Wikipedia or Wikidata. I encountered this issue in the "Visual Studio Code" article on the English Wikipedia.

- Please do not post the same request in multiple places. Have you tried editing the article and then saving it without changing anything? That step is sometimes required to refresh the article's transclusions and categories. – Jonesey95 (talk) 05:36, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
