Salari (Albanian definite form: Salaria) is a community in the Gjirokastër County, southern Albania.1 At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Tepelenë.2
Etymology
The Etymology of Salari, comes from the Latin word salārium, stemming from sal. (salt) In ancient Rome, it referred to an allowance given to soldiers to purchase salt. 3
