Meyer "Micky" Malka Rais (born 1974) is a Venezuelan-American entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He is the founder and managing partner of Ribbit Capital, a venture capital firm focused on financial technology, which he founded in 2012.1
Malka has ranked several times on the Forbes Midas List.2
Early life
Malka was born in 1974 and grew up in Venezuela, where he experienced hyperinflation,3 an experience he has cited as the origin of his interest in money and financial systems.4 He graduated from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas in 1996 with a degree in economics.5
Career
Malka co-founded Heptagon Grupo Financiero, a brokerage firm, where he served as chief operating officer. In 1999, it was acquired by Patagon.
After moving to San Francisco in 2007, he co-founded and served as co-CEO of Bling Nation. It was renamed to Lemon in 2011 and sold to LifeLock for $50 million.67
Ribbit Capital
In 2012, Malka founded Ribbit Capital, a venture capital firm focused on early-stage fintech companies. The firm raised an initial fund of $100 million.8 By 2024, the firm managed approximately $12 billion in assets.
