Iphiclus intersectus

Iphiclus intersectus is a species of pleasing fungus beetle. Within its family, it belongs to subfamily Erotylinae, and within its genus it is assigned to the subgenus Iphiclus (Iphiclus) which unites the closest relatives of the genus' type species I.flavovittatus.

Iphiclus intersectus is a species of pleasing fungus beetle (family Erotylidae). Within its family, it belongs to subfamily Erotylinae, and within its genus it is assigned to the subgenus Iphiclus (Iphiclus) which unites the closest relatives of the genus' type species I.flavovittatus.1

I.intersectus is found in southeastern and southern Brazil;2 in addition, there is material of this species from Peru in the SEMC,3 suggesting its range is underestimated.
