The Freeway Bureau (Chinese: 高速公路局; pinyin: Gāosù Gōnglù Jú) is the government agency under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of Taiwan in charge for freeway-related matters.

History

The bureau was originally established on 8 June 1970 as Freeway Engineering Bureau. On 1 December 1978, it was renamed to Taiwan Area National Freeway Bureau.1

On 12 February 2018, Taiwan Area National Freeway Bureau merged with Taiwan Area National Expressway Engineering Bureau, and was renamed the Freeway Bureau.
