Sam Beres (born June 14, 1996), better known by his online alias Sambucha, is an American YouTuber best known for commentary videos on data visualization and geography.

Early life and education

Beres began his career in finance, working at Barclays after graduating from New York University.1

YouTube career

He launched his YouTube channel in 2020, initially gaining attention for "Wikipedia Speedruns" before pivoting to YouTube Shorts. In 2024, Sambucha participated in Ludwig's Streamer Games as a member of Team YouTube.2 In 2025, he won the Dual-Format Creator of the Year Award at the 17th Annual Shorty Awards.3 In January 2026, he received international press coverage for a viral video in which he spent 45 minutes working as a fraudulent employee at a Best Buy location.4
