  • Comment: I have been watching the development of this draft for quite some time. Throughout this period, it has been accruing more wp:FANCRUFT. Ideally, the overview section should be no more than two or three paragraphs long. An example of overdetailing is with the premium subscriptions. The article should probably simply say that they exist and a basic overview of benefits; pricing does not seem necessary. Emphasis should be put on how Blooket had emphasized the outside world. For example, discussing its partnership with Khan Academy. ✶Quxyz 11:35, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

Blooket (/ˈbl.kɪt/, BLUE-kit)1 is an American game-based learning website2 founded in 2018 by Ben and Tom Stewart.3 It allows students and teachers to participate in quizzes through a variety of gamemodes.4

Gameplay

Players have the option to customise their character using avatars known as Blooks within Blooket's gamemodes. Players can create questions themselves, being able to customise the longevity and order of in which buttons and question names are to be displayed.5

History

In 2018, Ben Stewart decided to create his own game-based learning platform over his boredom with the current learning platforms that existed, such as Kahoot! and Quizizz.6

In January 2025, Blooket formed a partnership with Khan Academy, in which Blooket players could use Khanmigo, an AI-powered assistant, to generate questions.78

Impact on learning

In 2023, a study by Association for Computing Machinery found that students using Blooket in grammar classes regarded it as positive due to its ease-of-use, leading them to find additional satisfaction in their grammar classes.9

Another study in the same year by SUNY University analysing how Blooket impacts learning environments found that certain gamemodes instigate competitive nature, therefore contributing to negative behavior in a learning environment. Some teachers voiced their concern over the "sabotage" feature, for directly contributing to this competitive nature.10
