Headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, the firm operates across more than 20 countries on four continents.

History

Archetype Group was founded in 2002 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, by François Magnier and Pierre-Jean Malgouyres, who had backgrounds in French architecture and engineering. The firm was established to serve the growing construction market in Southeast Asia and expanded from its Vietnamese base into Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, and other regional markets during the 2000s.

By the 2010s, the firm had grown into a regionally significant consultancy operating across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, employing more than 1,000 people across its international offices.1

In 2025, Archetype Group received the “French-owned Companies Abroad” label, a private designation launched by the International Chamber of Commerce and the French Foreign Trade Advisors to recognise companies majority-owned by French nationals operating internationally.2

Operations

The firm provides construction consultancy services across four principal practice areas: architecture and master planning, building and infrastructure engineering, industrial and process engineering, and project and construction management. Its clients operate in the hospitality, real estate and industrial sectors.
