Colin Gordon Maggs (born 1932)1 is a railway historian, author and retired teacher. His books are generally about the history of rail transport in Great Britain, particularly those in the South West England.
Professional career
He trained for teaching at Westminster College, Oxford, Horseferry Road, London SW, from 1952 to 1954.2 He became the deputy headmaster of Batheaston Church of England school in 1967. He still lives in the area in Bath, Somerset.1
Railway historian
He was awarded an MBE in 1993 for services to railway history and an honorary MA from the University of Bath in 1995.3
